Lactose free diets for programmers is basically the same lactose free diet many
business people or office personnel follow, however, programmers are
usually more sedentary and have to deal with either bringing their
lunches or eating out. This may also include extra trips to the
restrooms.
A lactose free diet is where you eat items and
recipies that contain no lactose
such as milk or milk products. Lactose is a sugar from milk that can
be found in various other foods such as aged cheeses, ice cream and
sour cream. Yogurt is also a part of this list; however, most people
can tolerate it mainly due to its active enzymes.
The dietary changes for a lactose free diet for programmers should
initially include taking out all lactose foods from your diet. This
not only includes milk and milk or dairy products but many other
products that contain milk sugars. Some are breads and crackers,
cereals and most cheeses, creamed meats, poultry and fish, butter
and margarine, peanut butter with added milk solids, biscuits,
pancakes and muffins (Lebensmittel
online kaufen).
However, the list of foods you can have is very long: soy milk,
fruit juices, French bread, Italian bread, saltines, oatmeal, plain
potatoes, plain meats, fish and poultry, Kosher hotdogs, luncheon
meats, tofu and eggs, fresh fruits and vegetables, angle food cake,
custards and puddings made with water or milk substitutes,
broth-based soups or soups prepared with water and not milk and
various natural seasonings.
If after several weeks or months you are feeling better, you could
reintroduce some milk or another dairy product back into your diet
to see if you can tolerate small amounts. Yogurt is usually well
tolerated and has certain enzymes that help the digestive track, a
place where lactose intolerance is based.
There are hundreds of recipe books and Internet sites by the
thousands that will show you how to liven up your daily lunches and
dinners so that you will not become board with the same old thing
day after day.
It may be difficult to find the milk sugars in many foods because
there are no regulations regarding the manufactures to label
anything more than ‘sugar’ so you might find it a little difficult
to determine if ‘sugar’ mean ‘milk sugar.’
When eating out, try calling ahead of time to speak with the manager
or chief about at lactose free menu. If they don’t have a separate
menu for those with food allergies, ask if they would make you one
of their dishes without lactose. Calling ahead will save you time
and the trouble of explaining to everyone at the table if you don’t
want to. A simple, “I have food allergies,” is enough of an
explanation if someone does asks. More and more adults and children
have food allergies today then ever before.
Being a computer programmer takes a lot of concentration and if your
stomach is hurting or you have bloating, cramps, gas and diarrhea,
you will be unable to concentrate. That is why eating a lactose free
diet is so important for programmers.
