protection software
Pc protection software is essential for any computer and because of the
popularity of the internet different kinds of virus and invasive programs
are running all over the web. Viruses and malicious programs from the
internet like trojan horses, spyware, ad-ware and keyloggers are now rampant.
(I know it’s a bit techie). You don’t have to understand these types of
programs in order to know that they are dangerous because they can destroy
data; access your personal information and spread viruses through your
computer.
Due to this problem, different kinds of PC protection software have evolved
to protect users. By updating their program to protect against malicious
programs from the net, PC protection programs have responded to counter
online threats. But even with these softwares available, malicious progams
are still a major problem for most computer and Internet users.
Approximately 800,000 people have replaced their computer because of spyware
attacks that is estimated to be almost $2 billion. Now that you know the
extent of this problem, I know you want to know how to avoid getting these
malicious programs into your computer.
Malicious Programs: How to remove and avoid them.
1) Adware
Do you have an advertisement always showing up as soon as you connect to the
internet? This malicious program is called an ad-ware and it is the mildest
of the malicious programs out there, it basically slows down your pc by
taking up memory. It is usually difficult to remove and will require an
in-depth virus scan to remove it, you need to test a lot of different PC
protection softwares in order to get rid of different kinds of Adware.
2) Phishing
This program is very dangerous if you keep a lot of confidential and
personal information in your computer. Most of the time hackers will
duplicate secure and trusted website in order to make you fill in your
confidential information. As soon as you enter your details, they will store
it in their computer and login to your account. Many people have been fooled
with this technique and a lot of identity (and financial) theft has occurred
because of this. The best way to avoid this is by making sure that you
always scan your computers for viruses and making sure that the website you
enter is valid and secured.
4) Spam Emails
Spam or unsolited emails are aimed to send advertisements and other
unsolicited stuff to your inbox. Sometimes, spam mail will send viruses in
its attachments or give you a download link with a trojan horse.( a bad
virus)
The best way to avoid this is to avoid downloading files from unfamiliar
emails sent to your inbox. You can open the email but clicking or
downloading files there would spell trouble. However, if you have your virus
scan updated and active, the Trojan horse won’t go along way. It would be
easily detected and deleted in no time.
5) Spyware
Spywares are programs used by marketers and advertisers to get the pattern
of behavior of internet browsers. These kinds of software are usually
harmless in terms of destroying data but it slows down your computer and
gathers different kinds of data to be used for market research. It logs what
kind of website you visit, how long you stay in one website and basically
gathers a lot of information about you and your surfing habits.
Overall, these types of malicious programs can be avoided by being aware of
their existence and using updated pc protection software that will protect
you from almost (if not all) of these programs. .
